John Akar Foundation will host a cultural festival on Independence Day, 27th April 2019 at the Radisson Blu Gardens on the theme: “Telling our own stories”.
The cultural festival is expected to be a day full of fun for everyone with a display from the National Museum, a variety of food & beverages, art & craft and diverse entertainment, including games for adults and children and live musical performances.
Attendees will also have a chance to purchase ‘Made in Sierra Leone’ clothing, accessories, toiletries and other items.
John Akar Foundation (formerly John Akar Independence Trust) was established in 2006 to promote patriotism through events, media and civic engagement initiatives.
It is a non-political organization with a diverse membership in terms of tribe, religious beliefs and socio-economic background.
John Akar Foundation has over the years hosted annual BBQ/bonfire events, a local content policy debate and ‘Brain of Sierra Leone’ quiz competition.
