Prosecution witness, Nathaniel Williams, attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Freetown yesterday tendered 31 stones that were in his custody as exhibit officer.

The witness tendered the said stones in respect of the case of former Minister of Health and Sanitation II, Zuliatu Cooper, and 13 others, who were before the court for alleged riotous conduct and other public order offences.

They are standing trial before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie at the Pademba road Magistrates’ Court No 1.

The witness said he was on duty on the 7th January, 2019, when Detective Sergeant 9920 M. Kargbo handed over to him the stones, which were in black plastic bag.

Lawyer M. Y. Kanu, who represented the accused persons, asked the witness during cross examination if there were any descriptions on the stones, but the witness denied.

He also asked the witness if the stones can be found within or outside the court premises, he answered in the affirmative.
