Sierra Leone High Commission in Accra, Ghana, in collaboration with Sierra Leonean Pastors in Ghana, on Thursday 27th April, held a prayer and thanksgiving session in observance of the Country’s 62nd Independence Anniversary.
The event which was held at the Chancery in Cantonment, Accra, saw Sierra Leoneans from different areas in Ghana ranging from Pastors, School going pupils, young people, High Commissioner and staff of the Sierra Leone High Commission, among others.
Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson, High Commissioner of Sierra Leone in Ghana, appreciated everyone for honoring the High Commission’s call to come together, spend time praying and worshipping God together as Sierra Leoneans
She encouraged everyone to be proud of the country and must always put Sierra Leone first. She called on them to be praying always, particularly for the country and those in authority.
Madam Anderson noted that because “we love Sierra Leone, we should be mindful of our actions and to not in any way makes negative pronouncements against her.”
Several prayer points were offered, including peaceful elections, recovery of anything that the nation might have lost, God’s blessings, protection, and more.
Sierra Leonean pastors, which includes Rev. Paul Sayoh, Apostle Ben Ellie and Pastor Desmond Yarjah among others, thanked God for such an event bringing Sierra Leoneans together in Joy and in Love while encouraging all to make Sierra Leone their focus .
Musical Performances or contributions were made by different guests in which Sierra Leone’s national Anthem was sang in Limba, Mende and Krio and a melodrama performance by School going Pupils of a Sierra Leonean School, Super Kids Academy in Ghana were beautifully done.
The Sierra Leone High Commission in Accra, Ghana is the Government’s representation in Ghana, and calls on Sierra Leoneans to make a stop by at any time they are in Ghana as it is home away from home.
