…Dr. Matilda King

Medical Superintendent at the Rokupa government hospital has lamented the fact that she is the sole medico in the hospital despite being transformed into an Ebola holding centre last Wednesday because her colleagues have stopped working.
Dr. Matilda King told Concord Times in an exclusive interview at her hospital office last week that she is only being assisted by some one hundred and forty (140) nurses.
She revealed that since the hospital was transformed to an Ebola holding centre, they have admitted over 20 people, while six patients have lost their lives to the Ebola, which is the only disease they temporarily treat.
Dr. King called on community people to report all signs of Ebola to the hospital and encouraged residents to bring their sick relatives to the facility and to stop hiding them at home.
Meanwhile, the experienced female medico explained that pregnant women patients have been referred to the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH), which is a specialist hospital for treating pregnant women and under-five children.
