The Freetown Terminal Limited, a subsidiary of Bollore Africa Logistics, has donated food and non-food items to flood victims temporarily sheltered at the Attouga mini-stadium in the east of Freetown.
The items donated include three cartons of mini and medium pampas, three cartons of maggi, five bags of onion, five containers of cooking oil, bags of salt, 50 bags of rice, one hundred bundles of drinking water, and 20 cartons of laundering soap.
Presenting the items, worth over Le15 million, Freetown Terminal General Secretary, Joseph Lambert, said the company decided to conduct an assessment of the situation after its previous donation to the flood victims.
He noted that the company has great compassion for children in the camp, adding that the donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Receiving the items, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Mustapha Bai Atilla, thanked the company for making its second donation to the flood victims.
He said although government is about to relocate the victims, the donation has come at a time the victims needed it most.
