Four accused remanded for Robbery

Magistrate Albert Moody of Court No. 1 has on Wednesday (26th July, 2017) sent to the Male Correction Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown, four accused persons on two counts of robbery with aggravation contrary to Section 23 (1)(a) of the Larceny Act 1961, as repealed and replaced by Section 2 of Act No.16 of 1971.

Mohamed Kamara aka Abass, Ibrahim Bangura aka No.9, Santigie Bundu aka Tigi-Bolo and Alimany Turay aka COC, were also charged with the offences of being found in possession of small arms without license contrary to Section 11(1) of the Arms and Ammunition Act No. 9 of 2012, carrying offensive  weapon and wounding with intent.

The Particulars of offence stated that on Wednesday, 26 April, 2017, at Leonco Gas Filling Station-Mamamah Village in the Koya Chiefdom, Port Loko District, being armed with machete and a rifle with serial No. UB60A6821,plus its related magazine containing ammunition, robbed Osman Bangura one C-8 mobile phone, one C-9 Techno mobile, one Nokia two sim mobile phone, one computer and one Toshiba to the total value of thirty-four million, nine hundred and thirty-three thousand Leones (Le 34,933,000).

It continued that the accused persons also robbed Abu-Bakarr Fofanah one C-6 mobile valued one million and android mobile phone valued six hundred thousand Leones (Le 600,000).

The accused persons were denied bail while the matter was adjourned to 20th August, 2017.
