Former President of the International Union of Architects last Friday (March 15, 2019) paid a courtesy call on the authorities of Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
A renowned and foremost Nigerian Architect, Professor Femi Majekodunmi inspected the nearly completed School of Architecture at FBC, which was conceived, designed and built by the Sierra Leone Institute of Architects through donations by local architects.
The initiative to have the school was to make up for the shortage of qualified architects in the country, as well as to cut down on the prohibitive cost of training architects abroad.
Because of his passion for the profession and progress made so far, Professor Majekodunmi donated $5,000 to help in the commencement of the school at FBC.
Born to a Sierra Leonean mother, the Nigerian architect promised to scout out for head of department for the school.
