Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Alie Kabba, has yesterday called on the Russia Ambassador to Sierra Leone to bring investors and help boost the country’s economy.

Minister Kabba thanked and appreciated the Government of Russia for the support towards the cleaning of Freetown, especially the provision of trucks to move waste materials around the city to dumpsites, and encouraged the Ambassador for bilateral ties between Freetown and Moscow in terms of development.

He also appreciated the Russia Government for its support to the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) especially the signing of Agreement and training of military personnel in Russia.

He expressed satisfaction over the level of bilateral relationship that had existed between the two countries, and looked forward to more technical cooperation.

Dr. Kabba affirmed his willingness to honour the invitation for a State Visit to Russia in January, 2019, appealing for cooperation on education between the two governments  and  provide Sierra Leonean students the opportunity to study in Russia.

The Russia Ambassador to Sierra Leone  resident in Guinea, Alexander Bregadze, informed the Sierra Leone Foreign Affairs Minister of the Technical Military Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Defence for the Government of Sierra Leone and the Government of Russia and described the signing as an important event for both countries. He appealed to Minister Kabba for the urgent ratification of the Agreement, so as to enable fifty military personnel to receive training from all ranks in the Army in Russia.
