Football family sympathises with Bombali Shebora FC over coach’s demise

Sierra Leone football family was left with shock and agony following the death of Northern Region first division side, Bombali Shebora FC’s  Head coach, David Paul Jr, hours after their  Premier League Play-off defeat to Edmond Michael Foundation.

In shock and disbelief, the Sierra Leone football family was taken aback for  the loss and since the sudden incident, the family of the late coach  and the Shebora FC have been receiving condolence messages from clubs, administrators, media and fans.

In their message, premier league side, Old Edwardians stated: “It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of Coach David Paul Jnr., Head Coach of Bombali Sebora Football Club.

“Old Edwardians Football Club is immensely hurt by the loss of such an outstanding sporting personality who has served the football family diligently with unflinching commitment and dedication to the game for the last seven years. What we will remember most of all will be his great sense of commitment, his courage and his desire to win at the highest level.”

Northern Region Premier League club, Wusum Stars in their message stated that the management, players and Fans, sent their condolences to Bombali Shebora FC and the family of Coach Paul in Liberia.

“You have our deepest Sympathy and unwavering support. We are wishing you Peace, Comfort, courage and lots of love at this time of sorrow. Our hearts goes out to you at this difficult time,” they stated.

 The Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone in their message called on the family of the late coach and the club to be strong as well as the players and to accept it was God’s time.

“We pray for strength and comfort from God May his soul rest in Peace,”SWASAL stated. 

Play-off rival, Luawa FC also share their grief with the late man family and the club with a message on their Twitter handler, “Our heartfelt condolences to the Bai Bureh Shebora team, one of the Luawa FC opponents in the ongoing @SLFA_sl  Playoffs to the Premier League, on the death of their head coach after the game with EMF. Our prayers go to his family & the entire team. RIP David Paul.”
