‘Feeding Sierra Leone organization’ has on Friday,25th December, 2020, feed over one hundred children at the Kroo-Bay slum-dwelling community in Freetown.
The feeding program started at 12 noon on Christmas day at the Kroobay Community School Hall.
The feeding was done as part of celebrating the birthday of one of the co-founder of the organization, Nadia Jalloh.
Speaking at program, one of the co-founder, Thomas Foday, explained that Feeding Sierra Leone is a nonprofit charitable organization founded on Friday 30th October, 2020, by Nadia based in the United State of America and co -founder Thomas Foday is who is an Educator, filmmaker and Humanitarian based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Foday added that Nadia who had been part of “feeding America” got inspired by his “give food not drug’s” events, hence the two came together to form “Feeding Sierra Leone”.
He stated that their vision is to address the root causes of hunger and deepen understanding of structural and systemic inequities that disproportionately impact marginalized communities and people in need of assistance.
Community stakeholder James Tarawallie commended and thanks the organization for their timely support on feeding the children of Kroo-Bay community.
He maintained that if not for the awesome gift of ‘Feeding Sierra Leone’, most their children would have gone without food for the rest of that day as it often happens to them.
Meanwhile, another stakeholder in the community Hawa Koroma also thanks the organization on behalf of all the children that were beneficiaries of the feeding program, and encourage FSL to continue the good work of extending their helping hands to the children of their community.
