The National Secretary General of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Party,Amb. Alhaji Dr. Osman Foday Yansaneh, has in a press statement and telephone interview with this medium debunked news that the party has expelled selected former Vice President, Victor Bockarie Foh and Alpha Khan for anti-party activities.
A press statement purported to have been signed by the party’s National Secretary General, claiming that the party has expelled the two strong members of the party, yesterday flooded the social media.
It reads that: “After receiving a spate of complaints about indiscipline and anti-party activities perpetuated by certain party members, including comrades Victor Bockarie Foh and Alpha Kanu, an investigation committee was set up by the National Advisory Committee (NAC), the second highest organ in the party structure. Following the submission of the report of the investigation committee the National Advisory Committee the NAC on June 16th, 2019, convened a meeting to discuss the report. The NAC unanimously decided to expel comrades Victor Bockarie Foh and Alpha Kanu from the party pursuant to article 8 of the 1995 Constitution of the party for anti-party activity, fermenting violence, deceit, false statement amounting to fraud, inciting hate, threating the personal security of key party functionaries, flouting of rulings and decisions of the party carrying out anti-party propaganda and engaging in activities inconsistent with the achievement of the party’s objectives.”
Few hours later, the party’s secretariat also put out a press statement debunking the content of the first press release.
“The attention of the APC National Secretariat has been drawn to a press release statement dated 17th June, 2019, with the subject the All Peoples Congress expels comrades Victor Bockarie Foh and Alpha Kanu the party wishes to state that such a release is fake and is a deliberate attempt by certain miscreants to create mischief within the party. The party therefore wishes to inform all its members that there was no such meeting of NAC on a Sunday 16th June 2019 and that the APC is not in no way considering such action and will not expel or suspend any member from the party at this time,” the statement from the APC secretariat stated.
