As the murder trial of popular musician, David Sidney Buckle, aka DJ Clef, continues, more evidence is unfolding in the High Court relating to the circumstances of his alleged gruesome death.
Yesterday, a friend of the deceased, Claudius Conteh, told the judge and twelve jurors that he and the deceased were invited to a birthday party hosted by third accused Avril Oredola Renner, at the residence of the first accused, Mbamba Moiforay, aka LA Chocolate.
The witness explained that on their arrival at the party venue on Friday, 22 May 2015, they were welcomed by the second accused Foday Amara Kamara and his co-accused.
He said they were joined by Tunde Scot Jr. and Sahr David Moisay just before it started raining.
“When the rain stopped we went outside and the deceased, Sahr, third accused and some other guests started swimming in the pool. I also later join them,” he testified.
He said when they were ready to leave the party at around 2am the deceased went into the generator room to dress, while he dressed outside with his face turned backwards to where the deceased was dressing.
Conteh maintained that after waiting for a while without seeing the deceased re-emerge he went inside the generator room to look for the deceased, but only were the third accused dressing, and that the latter told him the deceased had already left for home.
The witness said they searched everywhere for the deceased but to no avail, adding that when they attempted to check inside the house they were blocked by the second accused, who was acting by the orders of the first accused.
He said the security at the main gate confirmed to them he didn’t see anyone go inside and outside the gate.
“We didn’t see the deceased and we went home,” he said.
He said on Sunday, 24 May, they went to Lagoonda restaurant and Quincy’s nightclub where they met the first accused and informed him that they had not seen the deceased since the party ended on Friday, 22 May.
The witness said they subsequently made a statement at the Aberdeen Police Station.
The witness was cross-examined by I.P. Mammie and M.P. Sesay, defence counsel for the accused.
The matter is prosecuted by Acting Director of Public Prosecution, Suliaman A. Bah.
The matter continues on 24 November.
The accused persons, Mbamba Moiforay, Foday Amara Kamara (G-Fak) and Avril Oredola Renner(Oreh) were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy to murder and murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, they had on Friday, 22 May, 2015 at No.1 John Street, off Aberdeen, murdered the deceased David Sydney Buckle (DJ Clef).
