March 2, 2015 By Victoria Saffa

The Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairperson of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), N’fah Alie Conteh, on Friday paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), Justice M.E. Tolla Thompson, at the latter’s Tower Hill office in central Freetown.

The NEC boss was accompanied by Commissioners Miatta French and Augusta Bockarie.

Mr. Conteh informed their host that the visit was to formally introduce himself as the new Chairperson of NEC, and to discuss the way forward for continuous partnership with the PPRC.

He also informed the PPRC chairman that he will be visiting political parties in their respective offices to foster a cordial working relationship with them.

In his response, Justice Tolla Thompson congratulated Mr. Conteh on his new appointment as the Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairperson of NEC. He also formally welcomed him to the PPRC.

He further expressed the commission’s willingness to partner with NEC and to also support its activities with political parties.

“My doors are always open for consultations because as Chairperson of NEC, you are also a Commissioner of the PPRC,” said Justice Thompson.
