The Permanent Sectary and other senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology yesterday failed to submit to lawmakers list of donor partners for the financial year 2016/17.
The Sub-Appropriation Committee continues investigations into how ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) expended their2016/17 budget and what their next priorities would be for the 2018 budget, which was approved in parliament last week.
When asked by members why he failed to include names of partners in their report, Umaru A. Conteh said the person whose responsibility is it to prepare the list was on leave, but noted that some of the donor partners are UNICEF, World Bank and International Development Bank (IDB).
He promised to submit the full list on the next adjourned date, as he promised to tidy the documents ahead of their next appearnace.
However, Hon. Ansumana Kaikai warned that members would not approve the ministry’s budget until the permanent secretary submits names of all their donor partners.

Other committee members suggested that the officials be asked to appear again as documents they presented have enormous errors, adding that figures do not tie up to the expenditure and bank statements.
