The National Cycling Association of Sierra Leone will organize a trial on Saturday, February 22nd to select cyclists that will represent the country in the 12th edition of the Mali International Cycling Tour.
Sierra Leone is expected to make its debut in the 12th edition of the tour, which is scheduled for 11th-15th March in Bamako, Mali.
According to the President of the Sierra Leone Cycling Association, Winston D.C. Crowther, this is the first time they will be competing in the tour of Mali and he is preparing his boys to face the challenge.
He said: “We are preparing the cyclists well so that they will be up to the task. Currently they are undergoing intensive training to make sure they excel during the five-day tour.”
Crowther further disclosed that they are planning to take along six cyclists and three officials but looking forward to companies and individuals to sponsor the team.
