Sierra Leone and Orebro striker, Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara, will shortly undergo surgery for the knee injury he suffered in a friendly match against Norwegian side Vålerenga.

The Swedish club confirmed on their website that the striker will undergo surgery but said it was too early to say anything about how long the player will be away from the pitch as he will be operated by ÖSK’s club doctor, Ulf Nordström.

“It has been found a meniscus injury in his right knee. Alhassan Kamara will shortly undergo surgery,” said Nordström on the club website.

Kamara himself is disappointed with the injury, but was coherent when he spoke to the club’s media team on Monday.

“Everything happens for a reason and it could have been much worse. It will be nice to get the surgery done and I promise I will work hard to get back as quickly as possible. I would also like to thank ÖSK fans for all the greetings and support that I have known since the game yesterday,” said Kamara.
