‘Crespo’ Kamara suffers injury scare in training

September 16, 2016 By Sahr Morris Jr.

BK Häcken striker Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara had to be checked by a doctor after suffering a hard tackle from teammate Mohammed Abubakari in a training session.

It is understood that Kamara suffered a minor knock on his left foot after midfielder Abubakari lost his balance and fell hard on him during Thursday’s training session.

The Wasps are yet to make an official statement as to the extent of the injury and it is unclear whether the Sierra Leonean international can play in Monday’s derby match against IFK Goteborg at Bravida Arena.

According to Göteborgs-Posten (Swedish based Newspaper), the Ghanaian midfielder was immediately called on by Coach Peter Gerhardsson who had a little talk with him.

“There have been few cases of this display, the one time he gets the ball, the second time it’s a free kick. Such a tackle could have resulted to a red card in a match and that’s what I explained to him. It is not acceptable, either in practice or in the game. I urged him also to talk it out; both players if they have any conflicts, to resolve them,” Gerhardsson told the Swedish Newspaper.

The Ghanaian international admitted that he rendered an apology to the striker, adding: “He is my brother. We go out together, we do everything together. Today on the pitch was different. I asked him to forgive me. It was not my intention to kick him and do something bad,” Abubakari said.

It was confirmed by both Peter Gerhardsson and sports director Sonny Karlsson, who attended the training, that BK Hacken will not take any action against the player.
