Court Order!

Nigerian family homeless

By Ausine Sesay

A Nigerian Engineer and Christian Missionary and his family were yesterday rendered homeless after bailiffs executed an eviction order by the court at their former resident at Regent village, in the Western Rural District.

Femi Oguntuase and his family have stayed at the said resident as tenants for over six years but later had an issue with the owner, Clifford Cole, who instituted an action in court to evict them on the grounds of outstanding rent.

Femi confirmed he owed the landlord a year’s rent, but that he tried to negotiate with him after he received an eviction notice from the court, but to no avail.

“I gave him Le1 million and I am surprised that my family is today rendered homeless. I have nowhere to take them unless the intervention of God prevails,” he told Concord Times.

On his part, landlord Clifford Cole told our reporter the tenant was due to quit the house since 24 February but refused to do, hence the intervention of bailiffs to force him out.
