Convict to spend 36 months in jail

Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.1 yesterday(Monday 18 September, 2017) sent one Amadu Jalloh to the Male Correctional Centre, who was charged with one count of Larceny Contrary to Section(2) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

 The particular of offense stated that Amadu Jalloh on Sunday 2nd July 2017 at Oba Funkia, Goderich Freetown, did steal four (4) wood door valued fourteen million (Le 14,000,000) Leones and two (2) dozens of assorted board valued, nine million (Le 9,000,000) Leones, all total to the sum of twenty-four million (Le 24,000,000) Leones , properties of Donald Tweede.

Defense lawyer, Dabor, made a plea of mitigation, stating that the convict was a first time offender and has been in prison for a couple of months, adding that he has learnt his lesson.

However, Magistrate Bangura looked at the seriousness of the offense and sentenced him for 36 months.
