Complainant testifies in robbery matter

One Abdul Kamara, yesterday testified in a robbery matter before Justice J Wright of the Siaka Steven Street High Court in Freetown.

Kamara, who is the complainant in the matter, narrated that on the 27th of September, 2019, he was asleep at around 3:00am when he heard a bang on his room door.

He narrated that he was hit on his chest with an iron bar by the accused persons-Ibrahim Conteh aka ‘Alkaline’, Mohamed Bangura aka ‘the game,’ Mohamed Turay aka ‘Cartel’.

He said the accused also hit him on his feet and inquired as to where he had kept the rent paid to him.

“I was asked by the first accused, Mohamed Conteh. They also asked me for the ‘Osusu’ money. They insisted to know where I kept my money and then hit me on head. They broke the box were the money was kept and took it away,” he testified.

“I was taken to the 34 Military Hospital but was later transferred to the Connaught Hospital where I was admitted for two months. I later reported the matter to the Adonkia Police Station where a police medical form was given to me.”

The accused persons are before the court on five count charges of robbery with aggravation contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

Meanwhile, Justice Wright remanded the accused and adjourned the matter to Tuesday, 23th March, 2021.
