Christ Embassy Sierra Leone Tuesday 12 May donated spiritual books and some token to approximately 250 Ebola survivors in the Western Rural and Urban Areas.
Speaking at the Young Women Christian Association hall, Brookfields, in Freetown, coordinator of pasturing at the church, Cynthia Symthe, said it was not the first time they were distributing spiritual books as they used to distribute Rhapsody books free of charge.
She noted that donating a book titled ‘Healing from Heaven’ was one way of contributing to keep the survivors strong because the word of God is strong.
Ms. Symthe said they strongly believe that the word of God has more healing power as though the beneficiaries have survived the disease they may still have some ailment.
“About 1000 of these books are now available for distribution. Christ Embassy is of the firm conviction that it is only the word of God that will not pass away, which is why we are giving them these books for daily readings. It is only the word of God that gives life,” she said.
Apart from a token cash donation to the recipients, five of the survivors were also given financial support to continue their education.
Speaking on behalf of the survivors, Sarah S. Sesay thanked Christ Embassy for their contribution to alleviating both their spiritual and financial wellbeing. She assured the church they would remain grateful to them.
