BSL Admin Assistant in court

Administrative Assistant of the Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL), Mrs. Antoinette Esther Ben-James, was yesterday in the High Court of Sierra Leone, before Justice John Bosco Allieu, to testify in a robbery matter involving three accused persons, who were alleged to have robbed her.

The trio, Foday Kajue, Santigie Sesay and Samuel Dumbuya are before the High Court in Freetown on a two count charges of  conspiracy and robbery, contrary to  law.

State Prosecution alleges that the trio, on 1st January, 2016, in Freetown, with intent to steal, conspired together with unknown persons and robbed Mrs. Antoinette Esther Ben-James.

In her testimony, the complainant introduced herself as an Administrative Assistant at the Bank of Sierra Leone, and that she recognised all the accused persons.

She recalled that on 1st January, 2016, at about 4:30am, she was returning home after church service together with two other ladies plus two toddlers, when the accused persons attacked them and carted away her bag.

I was able to identify one of the accused persons. He was the driver of the vehicle that was used by them,” he said.

She explained that she immediately went home and informed her husband who wasted no time but visited the scene, while she later reported the matter to the IMATT Police Station.

However, all accused persons were remanded at the Male Correctional Centre on  Pademba Road ,while the matter was adjourned to 1st March, 2017.
