Bollore Africa Logistics continues its support to the fight against the deadly Ebola viral disease with the donation of 300kg of chlorine powder and gloves to health officials in the Lunsar community.
According to the company’s Project Manager, Keith Muller, their support towards the fight will continue until government and partners drive away the virus from the country.
Muller stated that even though the company had already provided the sum of Le50 million to the government as their own contribution to the Ebola fight, they had decided to again donate the aforementioned items to communities in which they operate, to help in basic hygiene.
He assured of Bollore’s commitment to support efforts in the fight against the disease, which has killed over 500 Sierra Leoneans.
“As part of our help with the local community here in Lunsar, we are donating six (6) bags of chlorine to help in the hygienical up-keep that otherwise should be maintained and gloves as well. Bollore stands committed with the people of Sierra Leone as well as effort to fight the Ebola disease,” he said.
Receiving the items, Senior District Officer for Port Loko District, Mohamed Sheick Kargbo, commended the company for their support, which he said was timely and important as the district grapples with the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.
He assured that the items would be used for their intended purposes.
Paramount Chief of Marampa Chiefdom, Bai Koblo Queen, was also full of praise for Bollore Africa Logistics for their support to his chiefdom.
