Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has announced that host of the third annual national cultural festival is Bo city, commencing on 19 April.
According to Director of Cultural Affairs, Foday Jalloh, the weeklong cultural festival would help promote unity in diversity in the country, and that President Ernest Bai Koroma would launch a national cultural policy on the day the festival will commence.
Peter B. Conteh, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, expressed satisfaction that government has begun paying much attention to the ministry. He said the ministry had begun building the capacity of staff as well as articulating a national tourism policy.
He disclosed there was an upsurge in the number of tourists who visit the country; from 59,730 in 2012 to 81, 250 in 2013, and expressed optimism that the figure would increase this year.
