Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No 1,has sentenced one Mohamed Alliue Kabba to two -year eight- month imprisonment.
Kabba was arraigned with four counts of wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 20 and 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1965, Loitering with intent contrary to section 8 of the Public Order Act No 46 of 1965 and carrying offensive weapon contrary to section 16(1) of the Public Order Act No 46 of 1965
Police prosecutor, Sullu Tap (4513) alleged that on Tuesday, 25th July, 2017, at Basha restaurant, Wilkinson Road in Freetown maliciously wounded Ronald James.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura, on his ruling said that he has considered the conduct of the accused to be daunting to the society and must be discouraged.
“Even though the accused is a first time offender I will create some warning. I will sentence him as follow: for the first count, he will serve two (2) years in jail, while he would serve eight months imprisonment for the second and one month for third and fourth counts.
