Officials of Swedish Allsvenskan side, AIK Solna are expected to make a final decision on whether to sign Sierra Leone international striker Mohamed ‘Poborsky’ Bangura for the second time or look elsewhere for another striker.
The 25-year-old, who was recovering from a knee ligament, has last weekend completed a two-week workout with the club where he played several friendly matches with few other trialists.
The club’s sports director, Bjorn Wesström, said they have at least gathered all the pieces in place regarding the player’s workout and other details, and are now in a position to make an announcement soon.
“We have obtained the information we need to make a decision,” Wesström told Sportbladet in relation to what occurred the season before last when the player decided to join their rivals Elfsborg ahead of AIK during a short loan spell from Celtic. “The air would be cleared and we should not be bitter and backward due to personal conflicts.”
He further revealed: “We have acquired the information we need to make a decision. Based on the information we have obtained, we will take a wise decision in AIK’s best interests.”
The former FC Kallon striker is currently a free agent after he decided to terminate his contract with Turkish club Istanbul BFK during the summer, as he was recovering from a knee operation.
