Ahead of Confederations Cup second leg clash…

Gamtel FC coach Manneh thirst for goals

Head coach of Gamtel FC, Tapha Manneh, has urged his boys to be useful in front of goal when they host the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces FC (RSLAF FC) in the second leg of the preliminary round of the 2014 CAF Confederations Cup in Banjul, The Gambia.

The Gambia Telecommunication giant grabbed a 1-0 victory in Freetown last Saturday in the first leg, but coach Manneh believes the score line should have been more than the outcome. He told Observer Sports in Gambia that despite it was very difficult to secure an away win over his fellow African opponents, they had lots of chances to score more than one goal.

“We had lots of chances to score more than one goal. We also scored a clear goal which was ruled out by the referee. We are going to prepare ourselves tactically for the return match scheduled for Saturday. We need to score more goals and make use of our chances,” Manneh said.

He urged all Gambians to come out in their numbers and support them at the Brikama Box-bar Mini-stadium during the return match against the Sierra Leoneans.
