Agnes Mansaray scoops U.S National Junior College athlete gong

March 7, 2017 By Sahr Morris Jnr

Before her scintillating performance on Saturday at the US Junior Colleges Indoor nationals in Pittsburgh, Kansas; Central Iowa Community Colleges, Agnes Mansaray was honoured by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with a vote as the athlete of the year for the Mid-West Region of the USA.

Her recognition came before the spectacular times that she put forth at Saturday’s indoor National championship.

Before she even recorded her new times and records at the Indoor nationals, she was already ranked 1st in the USA in the 800 and second in the 600 and 1000 meters and 3rd in the Mile run.

She however has now further eclipsed those times and now sits atop the national rankings in the 600 and 800 meters but continues to hold steady in second place in the 1000 meters and 3rd in the mile.

On Saturday, she doubled up with crowns in the 600m (1:30.10 sec) and the 1000 (2:55.29 sec).
