Accused remanded for over Le 32m alleged theft

Principle Magistrate of Pademba Road Court no.1, Santigie Bangura, last Friday (15 September, 2017) remanded one Ballor Conteh on allegation of conspiracy and larceny contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused person (Ballor Conteh) on a date between the 1st July, 2014 and 13th August, 2017 at Bathurst village in the Western rural district, conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny.

It continued that the accused person on the same date and place stole the sum of one hundred and eight (180) cartoons of floor tiles valued thirty-two million, four hundred thousand (Le 32,400) Leones and twenty-five bags of imported cement valued one million, three hundred thousand (Le 1,300) Leones, all to the total value of thirty-three million, two hundred and fifty thousand (Le 32,250,000) Leones of the said property of one Sarah Musu Koroma.

The matter was prosecuted by Inspector Eric Deen and there was no legal representation for the accused person.

The accused was sent to Male Correctional Centre and matter adjourned for further hearing.
