Accused remanded for abusing girl, 17

Magistrate Sahr Kekura, presiding at the Pademba Road Magistrates’ Court No.1, yesterday sent on remand one Chrispin Johnson, who is charged with sexually penetrating a 17-year-old girl.

According to Inspector Kadie Shariff, between September 1, 2017 and June 30 2018 at New England Ville in Freetown, the accused sexually penetrated a child below the age of eighteen.

After the charges were read to the accused, Magistrate Kekura ordered that he be remanded male correctional centre in Freetow.

The matter was adjourned to 30th November.

In a related development in the same courtroom, one Samuel Davis was also sent on remand for an alleged rape, contrary to Section 1 of the Sexual Offences Act No. 12 of 2012.

The prosecution alleged that the accused on 14th July 2018 at a place called ‘Po Go Don’, in Hamilton, had sexual intercourse with the victim.

Magistrate Kekura remanded the accused and adjourned the matter to 30th November.
