Accused granted 20million bail for alleged theft

Mohamed Kamara made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Court No:4 at Pademba Road and was granted 20 million bail.

The accused was standing trial on three count charges to with conspiracy, larceny and malicious damage contrary to laws of Sierra Leone.

It was alleged that on a diverse dates from  3rd March 2023, at New England Ville in Freetown, the accused conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny from a vehicle.

Police alleged that on the same date and  place, the accused person stole from a Toyota Camry colored black battery, one black pack, three pair assorted color creaps, one red polo and fiscal sum of Nle5000, all to the sum of Nle 8,350, property of one Abdulrahman Kanu.

It was alleged that on the same date and place in Freetown, the accused person maliciously damaged the right side vehicle glass of Toyota Camry valued Nle 1,000 property of Abdulrahman Kanu.

Counsel for the accused, W. Gaber, applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person, submitting  that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within the Jurisdiction and that he has reliable sureties who are willing to look into his case and he will not interfere with prosecution witnesses or witness.

The matter was adjourned to the 28th June 2023 for further hearings.
