A gruesome road accident at Okra Hills along the Freetown-Masiaka highway occurred last Friday involving a Mercedes Benz car and a Toyota Hiace carrying 18 passengers and heading for Freetown from the province.
Eight people were left badly bleeding under a heavy downpour after sustaining various degrees of injuries and desperately needed urgent medical attention.
There were no fatalities but the injured passengers had to wait for hours before a rescue medical team arrived and ferried them to Freetown for medical treatment.
The two vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged and were subsequently removed from the crash scene to an area that was infamously occupied by the notorious West Side fighters in 2000, around the Okra Hills area.
