60 youth trained to sensitise public on toll road

The Ministry of Youth Affairs on Friday trained over 60 youth to sensitize road users on the Wellington- Masiak toll road.

Addressing participants at the ministry’s conference room,Stadium Hostels,Head of Project,Ministry of Youth Affairs,Mohamed Sahid Koroma, explained the benefits of toll road to  Sierra Leone.

He said the toll road among other things would ease traffic congession,create employment for Sierra Leoneans,attract investors and rourist,stimulates and strengthens local economy,enhacnes government effort to develop the road network,further streghtens bilateral relationship between China and Sierra Leone and broadens the technical knowledge of local engineers and technicians.

He noted that the training was geared towards creating a good social relationship,thus  admonishing the trainees to be decent in their approach in sensitising people on the toll road.

“You have to be polite and be patient with the public.Some would not want to talk to you but you have to be professional in excuting your duty,” he said.

He said the toll road charges would start come July and that consession would be given to monthly and yearly subscribers,while daily  subscribers would pay more.
