3 imprisoned for murder

Three accused persons – Ibrahim Conteh, Joseph Kanu and Ken Conteh – were last Friday (26th June) remanded at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road for allegedly murdering one Saidu Koroma alias ‘Jamaica’.

The accused were arraigned at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1 presided over by Magistrate Komba Kamanda on two counts of conspiracy to murder and murder contrary to law.

The particulars of offence state that Ibrahim Conteh, Joseph Kanu and Ken Conteh on Saturday 6th June 2015, at Ecowas Street along Lightfoot Boston Street Junction in Freetown, conspired with other unknown persons to murder the deceased (Saidu Koroma).

No legal representation was made on behalf of the accused persons while Police Inspector Sulaiman Kamara is prosecuting the matter on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.

Magistrate Kamanda remanded the accused persons in prison and adjourned the matter to 3rd June when the prosecution is expected to open their case.
