The management and staff of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sierra Leone limited, last Thursday 10th August, 2017 bade a befitting farewell to the bank’s outgoing Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr.Ndubuisi Ejiofor.
Mr. Ejiofor has been the MD/CEO of UBA Sierra Leone since 2011, and has done a remarkable job for the bank over the years. The UBA Group has appointed Mr. Ndubuisi Ejiofor as the Pioneer Turnaround/Relief MD/CEO of UBA Africa in recognition of his immense contributions and track records.
With mixed feelings, staff members poured out scores of farewell tributes, reminding Mr.Ejiofor of the incredible leader, friend, brand ambassador and human being he has been over the years. A source of inspiration and motivation he has been, and staff expressed their gratitude and appreciations for the invaluable skills, knowledge and experience he imparted in them during his tenure as MD/CEO of the subsidiary.
In response, Mr. Ejiofor congratulated Management and staff for the great feat achieved as a team, and encouraged every lion and lioness to put in the extra efforts, determination and time in order to be productive.
He reminded staff of the need for hard work, of meeting targets against stipulated deadlines, of setting goals and achieving results, of continuity and change as may be required by market forces, being mindful of Excellent Customer Service.
Briefly, he narrated his short trip to Conakry, Guinea, and catalogued the strings of challenges facing the subsidiary and the drastic measures needed to be taken to change the narrative, and to replicate several business strategies already domesticated and successful in UBA Sierra Leone across the border with our sister nation, his immediate destination.
His final appeal went to the incoming MD/CEO, Mr. Chinedu Obeta, to maintain the high standards set, to improve on performance that will translate into growth in business volumes and profitability. He challenged the new MD to make his mark, to make history with the current breed of brilliant bankers at his disposal.
In response, the incoming MD/CEO, Mr. Obeta, assured his predecessor of pulling all strings to make enviable records for the bank in the coming months and years. On behalf of Management and staff, the new MD/CEO profusely thanked Mr. Ejiofor for his outstanding leadership and contributions to UBA Sierra Leone.
