Popular Swedish agent, Patrick Mork, has defended the decision for the termination of contracts by Sierra Leonean strikers, Ibrahim ‘Teteh’ Bangura and Mohamed ‘Poborksy’ Bangura.
Teteh Bangura terminated his contract with Turkish club Bursaspor, whilst ‘Poborksy’ Bangura has also parted company with Istanbul BB; both players’ contracts were terminated by mutual consent.
However, the Swedish agent said the decision by both players to terminate their contracts was due to knee problems, which is affecting their game and performance.
He said: “It is right that the two players have broken their contracts with their Turkish clubs, which means the players are free to sign for new clubs despite the deadline day has passed. But first and foremost they are both awaiting rehabilitation training because they are still suffering with knee problems which is affecting their game for longer time now.
“Teteh Bangura has not sorted out his knee. That explains why he did not succeed in AIK. He still goes around and limps and his rehabilitation training simply took longer than we thought.”
According to Mork, both players will soon hit the ground running when they fully recover, adding that the good thing about the decision to terminate their contracts before the window closed is that they can sign for any club after their recovery.
