The technical team of Swaziland has the Sihlangu squad to face Sierra Leone in the 2015 AFCON qualifier in two weeks’ time.
According to local reports from Swaziland, Mbabane Swallows and Royal Leopard players dominate the selection with Swallows having five players while Leopard are represented by the same number of players in the squad.
Meanwhile, the pair of Leopard’s defensive midfielder Siboniso ‘Rocco’ Malambe along with Manzini Wanderers’ striker Sdumo Shongwe were the latest additions to the final squad which was announced by National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) CEO, Frederick Mngometulu with the blessing of head-coach Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga.
According to Swazi Observer, the 24 players called up have reported for full-time camp at the FA Technical Centre on Sunday.
Head coach Bulunga told Swazi Observer that the selected players were chosen on merit and not by favours.
“The two added players were selected based mainly on their current performances in their respective teams. They have been doing well whilst we need depth in the team. We were having a challenge as we were not getting enough goals hence the addition of Sidumo. We also hope Rocco will add value to the defence as he is a defensive midfielder,” the CEO said.
