The Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water polo Association (SLSDWA) has opened a book of condolence in memory of their late president, Alhaji Dr. Fadlu Deen, who passed away recently in the United States of America.
Before signing the condolence book, the association’s acting president, George (Rev.) Spilsbury Williams, noted that the demise of their president is a great loss not only to the swimming family but the sports family as a whole.
“It is with deep sadness that I state that the sports family has lost an outstanding personality. He was not only a swimmer, but also a cricketer, golfer and boxer, which shows that he was a versatile man when it came to sports,” Williams said and promised that as an association they will keep up the late man’s aspirations.
The book was also signed by the association’s lawyer, Fode Dabo, who hailed the late man for his outstanding and endless love for sports.
Until his death at age 84, Alhaji Dr. Fadlu Deen was the treasurer of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone.
