After the long Ebola outbreak in the country, the Sierra Leone Fashion and Art Council will be hosting its first Sierra Leone Fashion Week in April 2017.
According to the Founder, President and Executive Director of Sierra Leone Fashion & Art Council, Miss Knox, the fashion week will feature multitude of designers, each with new and innovative fashion styles that explores versatility, talents and cultural heritage of Sierra Leone to the fashion world.
She noted that the Sierra Leone Fashion Week is a Fashion franchised platform dedicated to promoting Sierra Leonean brands on a global spectrum and establishing a more diverse culture of fashion throughout the industry in several fashion capitals around the world, such as New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Miss Knox continued that this year’s first showcase will be hosted in Freetown, between the 23-27 April ,2017 and that during the one week event, they will be organising series of activities including seminars, exhibition, national festival, reception and a fashion show.
She also disclosed that several models and designers have already registered to take part in the fashion events, adding that they had already landed some major deals with new media partners.
She said the last Sierra Leone Fashion week took place in 2013 and it was because of the Ebola outbreak they decided to hold on until the country is free from the dangerous epidemic.
