The Sierra Leone senior national team Leone Stars has maintained its 88th position in the latest FIFA world ranking released yesterday (Thursday May 7).
Sierra Leone was adjudged the same as the ranking released earlier in April. It remains the 23rd ranked African side above Angola, Morocco, Benin and Malawi respectively.
Meanwhile, Algeria remains at the summit of African football with 917 points, which put them in 20th position in the world, while Cote d’Ivoire are second in Africa and ranked 23rd in the world.
The top 17 positions are unaltered from last month’s ranking, which means Germany (1st, unchanged) continues to lead the way ahead of Argentina (2nd, unchanged) and Belgium (3rd, unchanged).
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 4 June.
