Salone, Algeria forge closer relations

Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Mohammed Elamine Derragui yesterday (9th June) paid a courtesy call on his Sierra Leonean counterpart in Korea, Ambassador Omrie Michael Golley at the Sierra Leone Mission in Seoul.

Conveying fraternal greetings from the President, government and people of Algeria to President Ernest Bai Koroma and the government and people of Sierra Leone, Ambassador Derragui expressed his pleasure at visiting his colleague and hoped for continued cordial relations between the two countries, which have spanned decades.

The envoy further stated his willingness to engage in discussions with his counterpart on Korean, as well as Algerian and regional issues.

Responding, Ambassador Golley indicated that he was especially honoured to receive his counterpart from Algeria and thanked him for the visit.

He gave a brief discourse on his government’s efforts to eradicate the Ebola Virus Disease and the post-Ebola recovery plans.
