Radisson Blu Mammy Hotel has on Friday, 20th October, 2017, organised a show and cocktail for journalists in a move to showcasing their hotel and its services.
Speaking to the media, the Director of Sales and Marketing, Daniel Sekoni, said the essence of inviting journalists and other dignitaries was to showcase their hotel and its services savour ,local favourites along with the cuisines from around the world .
‘’The essence of the invite is to showcase what we are proud of as this is a Sierra Leone thing. It is the pride of the country and we want the world at large to understand that there is lot of good things in Sierra Leone,’’ he said.
The Director of sales and Marketing said there is a lot of negativity outside there, saying Freetown has to change.
“We want people to understand and that’s why we will continue to interface with the media from time to time to showcase our products.”
The four star hotel director of sales and marketing further said that they cater for business and international travellers and also cater for tourists, even though that particular sector is a bit low as at now in the country and a bit moving.
He stated that they cater for the general public saying and that everybody is welcome at Radisson Blu and their doors are opened to everybody
‘’At the moment, over 70% of our clients are foreigners. The local community is welcomed on social media site and we encourage them to send us feedback, enhancing interactivity thereby creating comments and suggestions about what to do to make our brand a better one in the tourism sector,” he said.
Public Relations and social Media and Responsible Business Coordinator , Hafsatu Serry, said the programme was for journalists to see the hotel, how they work, the service they provide and for them to see the different aspect of the hotel.
‘’We feel very good and from the feedback and the amount of journalists that turned up actually to attend this event, we felt very happy. We appreciate the time journalists spent despite their busy schedule,’’ she said.
She noted that it was necessary that journalists come and see, feel, and know what Radisson Blu is about, instead of just seeing the hotel in the news .
The PR and social media boss said the media has a great role to play in showcasing the beauty of the hotel and tourism as a whole, to the outside world so that people would know that Sierra Leone is a beautiful place to be despite its recent past from the war, Ebola and many others.
The media program was climaxed by the distribution of gifts to lucky winners through a raffle done by the hotel and three people emerged as winners to enjoy two nights in the different suites from business to luxury sites respectively.
