Primus Cycling Club has dominated the 16th edition of the Sierra Leone National Cycling Association (SLNCA) annual picnic race with three of their riders finishing at the first three positions.
Sulaiman Bah comfortably crossed the finish line in first position, followed by his teammates Arnold Bangura in second while the 2015 Boxing Day champion, Mamoud Keita finished in third position.
Over 50 cyclists competed in this year’s race which commenced from the Siaka Stevens Stadium and ended at the Kent Beach. Riders were drawn from several clubs and areas, including Crank Cycling Club, Lunsar and Makeni.
SLNCA president, Winston D.C. Crowther, said he was pleased with the competition especially with the performance of the young riders.
He said: “Like I said before the competition, I was expecting a tough battle this year and everybody who witnessed the race saw a great display by the cyclists. In the previous years this event has been dominated by the big name cyclists but it was a different story this year.”
