Moyamba police vow to fight crime in the district

By Francis Ndanema in Moyamba

Local Unit Commander of the Moyamba police division, James Philip John Conteh, has assured residents that his division will use both proactive and reactive measures to fight crime in the district.

The proactive measure, according to the LUC, is to embark on thorough sensitization and security patrols to prevent crime, while the reactive approach would be arresting and prosecuting criminals, especially when they have sufficient evidence against them.

It could be recalled that over one hundred sexual and gender-based violence cases were charged to court last year by the Family Support Unit of the Moyamba police division.

The LUC stressed that the FSU is well prepared to prosecute such cases in court to serve as deterrent to others who might want to perpetrate such offence.
