Magistrate Santigie Bangura, presiding at the Padamba Road Magistrates’ Court No. 1, yesterday remanded one Emmueal Mansaray at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre following his arraignment for allegedly damaging billboards of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party and National Grand Coalition.

Mansaray was charged with two counts of malicious damage contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861.

Police Prosecutor Sulla Tap (4513) alleged that on Wednesday, 29th November, 2017, at Allen Drive, Hill Station in Freetown, the accused maliciously damaged one SLPP Billboard bearing the photograph of SLPP presidential aspirant Julius Maada Bio, valued Le800,000, and another belonging to the National Ground Coalition (NGC), costing Le750,000.

The complainant and the accused were not represented by lawyers, yet the magistrate ordered that the latter be remanded at the male correctional centre in Freetown until the return date of 11th December.
