Magistrate of Freetown Magistrate court No.1, Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh Kamara,has on Friday, 9th June, 2017, granted bail to one Alhaji Adam Dumbuya in the sum of fifty million Leones and one surety in like sum and that surety must produce national passport.
The accused was charged with two counts charges of transporting by means of deception contrary to section 2 (2) of the Anti-Human Trafficking Act of 2005 and the prosecution had alleged that the accused on Monday, May 8th ,2017, in Freetown, transported Fatmata Fahad to the Republic of Kuwait for the purpose of exploitation.
The prosecution continued that on the same date, the accused transported Fatmata Fahad to the Republic of Guinea for the purpose of exploitation.
Magistrate Binneh-Kamara said the court cannot continue to keep the accused behind bars, adding that the prosecution had not come up with any witness or evidence in relation to the matter regarding the allegation.
“I cannot continue to incarcerate the accused when I don’t know whether the prosecution will come up with witness,” he said.
The matter was adjourned to 27th June, 2017.
