Kuwait travelling Scam facilitators get Le240m bail

Presiding Magistrate at the Siaka Stevens Street Magistrates’ Court No.1, Albert J. Moody, on Monday (September 25) granted bail cumulatively amounting to Le240 million, plus two sureties each to three alleged Kuwait travelling scam facilitators.

The accused persons: Abdallah Abdulai Fofanah, Alimamy Kabba and Ibrahim Sesay were charged with conspiracy, recruiting by means of deception, transporting by means of deception, transferring by means of deception contrary to section 2(2) of the Anti-Trafficking Act of 2005.

The prosecution alleges that Abdallah Abdulai Fofanah and Alimamy Kabba between February and March 2017, in Freetown, conspired with unknown individuals to recruit and transport one Isata Sowe to Kuwait for the purpose of exploitation.

In another file, the prosecution also alleged that Ibrahim Sesay, between 5 January and 15 March 2017 in Freetown, transported one Isatu Musa Bangura by means of deception for the purpose of exploitation to the Republic of Kuwait.

Following an application for bail by Lawyer Sahid Mohamed Sesay Magistrate Moody granted both Abdallah Abdulai Fofanah and Alimamy Kabba bail of Le100 million and two sureties each, while Ibrahim Sesay’s condition includes Le40 million plus two sureties.
