Sierra Leone pair, Lansana Kamara and Mohamed Kamanor are ready to join Swedish club Umeå ahead of the new season.
The Swedish club posted on their website that defender Mohamed Kamanor and midfielder Lansana Kamara are both ready for Umeå FC and will join the rest of the squad in training before the league commences.
Umea coach Johan Sandahl said Kamara is a very skillful player and will be happy to work with him. He said on the club’s website: “Lansana Kamara is a very skilled player who did well in his last spell in Sweden with Eskilstuna. He impressed me during my stay in Sierra Leone. He can play both as a defender and midfielder.”
Sandahl also spoke about Kamanor saying: “Mohamed was very prominent in 2012, and all probably saw his potential. Unfortunately, he suffered a parasite in the stomach during his audition last year and therefore we could not take him. Now he is healthy and looked very good when I saw him in Sierra Leone.”
Kamara in 2011 helped Eskilstuna City move up to Division 1. Once there, he was named Division 1’s top midfielder in 2012, while Kamanor was the crowd’s favourite at Umeå FC. In 2012, halfway through the Superettan season, the player was recruited by the premier league club Djurgården but returned the following season to Sierra Leone.
