Issa Kallon has joined Dutch second tier league Eerste Divisie side, SC Cambuur on a two-year contract with an option for another year from FC Utrecht.

The 21-year-old forward signing was confirmed by the Dutch club on their website on Monday August 14, as they bolster their squad ahead of the new season which will get-underway on Friday.

“SC Cambuur has strengthened immediately with Issa Kallon. The 21-year-old attacker arrives from FC Utrecht and joins the first selection from tomorrow. He has signed his contract for the next two seasons (with an option for another season),” the club stated on their website.

SC Cambuur Technical Director, Gerald van den Belt described Kallon acquisition as a good move, describing him as a player with a lot of threat and speed. He said: “Issa has shown last season to get a high level and, given his age, he will only get better. He is also a player who can force something with his actions and creativity.”

In August 2016, Kallon joined FC Emmen on loan from FC Utrecht and was featured in all 38 league matches scoring four goals for the club last season. The youngster passed through Vitesse’s youth training, but debuted in August 2014 for FC Utrecht.

Issa Kallon, who was born in Holland by Sierra Leonean parents has featured for both Netherlands U-17 and U-19 squad but still eligible to play for Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars.
