Swimming Association presidents across Africa have joined the long list of local and international officials sympathizing with the Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water polo Association (SLSDWA) over the death of their president, Alhaji Dr. Fadlu Deen.
The SLSDWA president passed away recently in the United States of America after a short illness.
After a book of condolence was opened on Tuesday at the association’s secretariat at Walpole Street in Freetown, over six international association presidents have sent condolence messages to SLSDWA and the sports family.
A condolence message from the president of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, Babatunde Fatayi-Williams, reads: “On behalf of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, I tender our profound condolence to his family and also to your association on the passing away of your dear President. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
The Uganda Swimming Federation (USF) president, Donald Rukare, sheared similar feelings and prayed for unity, strengthen and God’s guidance to always be with the swimming family whilst the late Dr. Deen is away in eternity.
There were messages of sympathy also from the Algeria Swimming Federation, the Gambia Swimming & Aquatic Sports Association and the former president of the world federation, FINA, Mustapha Larfaoui.
